Founder Jill Hudson becomes sole owner as the businesses enter their next phase of investment, innovation and growth.
Big Sister and Hudson Outsourcing have announced the completion of a management buyout which sees original founder Jill Hudson become the sole owner of both businesses.
The transaction, completed for an undisclosed sum, follows the departure of John Hudson as he moves on to pursue new opportunities and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the Hudson group of businesses.
As the original founder, Jill has led the development of Hudson Outsourcing from its earliest days, building the business around a simple ambition: to make public sector procurement more accessible and help organisations identify, compete for and win opportunities across the UK and international markets.
That expertise later led to the creation of Big Sister, bringing specialist bid, growth and business support to organisations across health and social care.
Following the management buyout, Jill now assumes full ownership and strategic control of both businesses.
Investment in the Next Generation
The acquisition forms part of a wider programme of investment across the businesses, including new strategic partnerships and the continued development of technical solutions designed to strengthen the way clients identify and pursue opportunities.
Technology will play an increasingly important role in the next phase of the group’s development, supporting greater intelligence, efficiency and accessibility while retaining the specialist human expertise that has underpinned the businesses since their inception.
The objective remains the same as it has always been: to stay ahead of a rapidly changing procurement landscape and give businesses the tools, intelligence and expertise they need to compete.
Jill Hudson, Founder and now sole owner of Big Sister and Hudson Outsourcing, said:
This is a significant moment for me personally and for both businesses. I founded Hudson with a belief that bidding and public sector procurement could be done differently and personally, and that ambition has never changed.
We’ve spent years challenging traditional approaches, developing new services and helping organisations across different sectors and countries access opportunities that can genuinely transform their businesses.
The management buyout gives me the opportunity to take that vision forward with complete focus. We’re investing in new partnerships, new technical solutions and new ways of supporting our clients, while staying absolutely committed to what we have always done best – understanding procurement, identifying opportunity and helping ambitious organisations compete.
John leaves with our very best wishes as he moves on to new opportunities, and I’m incredibly excited about what comes next.

Continuing to Lead the Way
The global bidding and procurement landscape has changed considerably since Hudson was founded, with technology, procurement reform and increasing access to international opportunities transforming how organisations compete for public sector contracts.
Hudson Outsourcing will continue to develop its global tender intelligence and bid support capabilities, while Big Sister will continue its specialist work supporting organisations operating across health and social care.
The businesses will also continue to invest in partnerships, technology and new solutions designed around the evolving needs of their clients.
For Jill, the buyout is both a return to the entrepreneurial foundations on which the businesses were created and an opportunity to accelerate what comes next.
Big Sister and Hudson Outsourcing remain proudly founder-led, independently owned and focused on the future.
